Zemgale NGO Centre has been established in 1998 with aim to promote the development of the civic society. Over the last twenty years, the organisation has extended its action directions and improved quality of services provided. Currently organization is a resource centre for more than 700 NGOs (non-profit organizations), 6000 information network users. Regular activities are consultations on fundraising for public beneficiary measures, information, education & technical assistance for non-profit organizations. Local and international voluntary projects are being implemented in cooperation with organizations from Europe, Jordan, Latinamerica (Nicaragua & Brazil), Georgia, Russia (region of Kamchatka) and cooperation is started with Ukraine, Armenia.

The Constitution of Latvia states that the sovereign power of Latvian state belongs to society of Latvia, and its free and legal expression is the basis of the state. Zemgale NGO Centre is working on mentioned values implementation into praxis on daily basis. Conjunctive factor of values is civil society that we have set as our key action element. Non-governmental organisations in Latvia next to free and responsible society are the basis of civil society.
Vision
Non-governmental organisations in Zemgale region represent and defend the position of society in national, inter-governmental and inter-organisational level, thereby influencing the development of judical and civil society in Zemgale region.

Different level approach
Zemgale NGO Centre is actively planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating projects in local, regional, national and international level. The experience can be measured in various levels: from NGO information campaigns in Jelgava, Jēkabpils, Dobele towns till the long-term inter-continental cooperation project with Latin-American countries.
Sharing experience
The most significant way of growth is investing in people. Our precondition is simple - while developing your people, your organisation will be developed. Through development of your people and organisation, the whole society will develop. Sharing is significant criteria in quality building. There are no borders for that.
